Khabar-khabar angin di Internet mengatakan Apple akan melancarkan iPad baru pada 7 Mac nanti. Hari tersebut adalah jatuh pada hari Rabu, iaitu hari yang sama Apple memperkenalkan iPad 2 pada tahun 2011, malah Apple juga melancarkan iPad pertamanya pada hari Rabu 27 Januari 2010.
